User Reviews about Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tagforce 4

As most people have said, probably the best thing about the game is that there are a lot of cards to use.

Unfortunatly, there are a bunch of minor things people seem to have omitted:

1. This may just be my game, but frequently during the duel the game will glitch for a second (it just stops) and then resumes normally. It happens more frequently when there are a lot of cards on the field.

2. Holding down the R button no longer speeds up the duel as it did in previous games; it will only speed up inbetween phases (Draw, Standby, Main 1, etc.) and holding it down during phases doesn't seem to do anything.

3. Your opponent (in game, not a real person) takes a long time to decide what to do; I think I wait like 6 or 7 seconds for them to do something inbetween actions.

4. Its not just the secondary characters that don't name their decks; all characters do that.

5. So what if changing areas AND dueling causes the time to move forward? It takes awhile for the day to end, much longer than previous games.

6. This is natural, but with every game comes an updated version of the game rules/banned card list. Some cards that were banned in previous games have now become limited or semi-limited, some cards that were unrestricted have become limited or semi-limited, and some cards that were limited or semi-limited became unrestricted or banned.

7. That MC guy who gives out the colored boxes has a horrible return rate; everytime I've picked a box, it was empty.

8. To get an alternate image card, you have to beat the old guy in Rock Paper Scissors AND give him 100DP. Most of the time I lost.

9. I'll figure this out eventually, but I haven't been able to get a duel partner because everybody keeps saying they're busy. -- Not perfect, but pretty good anyway
I was always a fan of the tv show, but could never convince myself to speand money on the cards knowing that once I started I would want to collect them all. No problem with that in this game. I can collect all I want and not speand one cent of real money. You speand the points that win during duels and there are so many people that you can duel plus you can duels with up to four friends though the ad hoc mode of the PSP. The animations are exciting though a little simple. All the rules are explained and everycard is accompined with an explaination. Overall a well done game. -- Lot cheaper then all the cards
The TF4 has the most number of cards and very good music. I've been playing the 5ds on NDSL and I can tell TF4 is much better than that. The dark tuner semms new to the YUGIOH games. Anyway, it's a game that every YUGIOH fan can't miss!! -- Can't stop playing it
With all of the new cards and the new styles of dueling this game breathes some new life into the Tagforce series. There are a few minor annoyances that while they don't take anything away from the game they can make it somewhat annoying for those familiar with the Tagforce series. The first minor annoyance is that all of the secondary characters have decks named after their own name with a number beside it, making it very difficult for players, or at least myself, to remember what kind of decks they use. It also makes it difficult to gauge how tough they are. Granted I have yet to face anyone with an idiotically weak deck. They have all been either a moderate challenge or ridiculously tough.

Another minor annoyance is the alteration to the time system. In previous Tagforce games time only passed by moving to different areas. That is the same in Tagforce 4 except that time also passes with each duel you play. That means that you are desperate for DP you can't just hang you in a single area and duel everyone ten times over.

Sadly I have yet to participate in tag duels but the story mode system for that seems to be different. If I'm right than you can change partners daily but I'm only guessing on that. Hopefully when I do finally tag duel my partner won't have a sudden drop in IQ like they do in previous Tagforce games. -- Very good
