User Reviews about Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Let me start this review by stating that in general, I normally don't play this kind of game because they usually don't hold my interest for long. I get the most entertainment and playability from sports games. That being said, I thought I'd give this a try since I've been a fan of Marvel comics since I was a kid.
This game is a blast! This is the only game that's been in my PSP since I started playing. The ability to play with different characters and create different teams means I'll be replaying this game for quite a while. It's not impossibly frustrating, but does offer a little bit of a challenge. And the story is fun to follow.
Can't recommend this game enough for comics fans. Hardcore gamers that know nothing about marvel may not enjoy it as much. -- Awesome game for Marvel comics fans
great game, but why does amazon think people will pay this much, when you can get it for 19.99 everywhere else? -- why is this priced so high?
If you are a fan of Marvel Comics, there is no question about it, you have to play Marvel Ultimate Alliance in one of its different versions.
I will now talk about the PSP version, which is the one I played.
I love portable games, so I had to get this one. Although one may be worried about missing some features due to memory constraints, I am glad this version actually has more features than the home console versions.
It has some exclusive "comic book missions" (those are battle simulations done as "training", like sidequests you can unlock) and four exclusive characters: Captain Marvel, Hawkeye (Clint Barton), Ronin (Maya López) and Black Widow. As a Captain Marvel fan, this was too good to be true.
The graphics are obviously not high-definition. I do not care about that, because they still look pretty good. If you want HD graphics, you would be better off with the PS3 version.
A long time ago I had some problems when the game would freeze forcing me to turn the PSP off and on again. This stopped happening with an old PSP operating system update. It should not happen to anyone now, but if it does, just update your system and that's it.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is coming out this fall (with Iron Fist in the roster, yay), but in the meantime, do yourself a favor and play this. You will not be sorry you did. -- Form the Ultimate Alliance
If you are into video games & super heroes, well this is a game for you! A must have for the enthusiast, well done & very interesting. I very much liked all the different moves & abilities each character you control are given. Purchase the player's guide so you what yer doing, & I can only be sure you will not be bored or disappointed with the game. I give it two huge thumbs up, all around great game. -- Ultimate Superhero Game!
It's a fun game, but it can be hard to see what is going on, because of the screen size -- Good but hard to see on a PSP
