User Reviews about Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I like this game, just as I liked it's spiritual precursors X-men Legends I & II. It's a fun party game to pick up with friends, or play through with yourself.
There's one big problem with it though: Activision didn't renew its contract with Marvel which means that the game's DLC is no longer available. Which means if you want to play as Magneto, Sabretooth, Venom, Dr. Doom, Hawkeye, Hulk, Nightcrawler, or Cyclops, you won't be able to download them. Or get the game achievements related to their characters; so you can't get a complete for this game on your achievements list.
At least for Ultimate Alliance I (not so much with the sequel, apparently) there is a gold edition available which has the DLC characters on it. So, if you want this game, I would suggest you make sure you get the gold edition. -- Warning Before You Buy!
It took a bit of effort and time for my son to understand how best to use the controllers (it was very frustrating for him), but once he got it he'd had a great time. -- My son loves it
This was incredible fun the 1st couple times I played it years ago. I recently started playing it again putting each character on 1 of 5 "permanent teams" so I could her every single custom conversation the game has to offer. This game has lasting appeal & nice "hidden nuggets of dialoge" depending who you use where. I'm keeping a custom conversations chart so that years from now when I give it yet another chance, I can put the right people on the team on every level to maximize those custom conversations between charactors.
I realized I hadn't given anything 5 stars yet so I decided to go back & review my favorite game of all time. -- Best game I own
This game is a blast.. lots of different character combonations and overall just a ton of fun... the original is always the best.. keep up the good work Marvel and Activision!! -- This is the best game Marvel has to offer so far!!!
